Is SEO Dead?

SEO

Since 1998, SEO has been declared “dead” more times than we can count. Yet, it keeps evolving, adapting, and proving its relevance time and time again.

When Google was born in 1998, it marked the beginning of SEO. By 2003, the launch of AdWords made many think organic search was doomed. But SEO persisted.

In 2005, social media exploded. Once again, people said SEO had no future. Still, it continued to evolve.
By 2008, mobile search entered the scene, causing another round of “SEO is dead” declarations. Yet, mobile SEO quickly became essential.

The Google Panda and Penguin updates in 2011 and 2012 sent shockwaves through the industry, making some believe SEO wouldn’t survive. But instead, it became more sophisticated.

In 2020, Core Web Vitals emphasized performance, and once again, skeptics wrote SEO’s obituary. But optimizing user experience only strengthened it.

By 2022, chatbots gained traction. The prediction? AI would kill SEO. Still, search optimization found new ways to thrive.

Now, in 2024, AI-generated content is everywhere, and yet—SEO is far from dead.

SEO hasn’t died. It’s grown, transformed, and adapted to every challenge thrown its way. Those who know, know.
